Emergency relief and humanitarian aid attract hundreds of millions of dollars of contributions annually. Our policy is to encourage potential donors to work directly with our customer organizations in order to ensure that their contributions be in cash so that they can be focussed on goods and services that best meet the need.
In some cases, however, donors insist on in-kind contributions in specific areas. In such instances, we try to encourage their donations to the important cause of fighting waterborne disease with our Donor Match Program. Under this Program, FIRST WATER will provide a credit equal to 10% of the value of any FIRST WATER products purchased by a private donor and shipped directly to a qualifying NGO. The credit allows the recipient NGO to acquire an additional 10% of the value of the donation and can be used then or during the succeeding twelve months for additional products, replacement parts, accessories, etc. In this way, the donor’s contribution is effectively expanded to reap greater benefit for the donor’s target cause.
